Mario Weiss: CEO and Founder

Mario has a proven track record in the healthcare sector, with over 25 years of experience in developing and implementing innovations for payer organizations, physicians’ associations and innovative pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Mario holds a medical doctorate degree from the University of Hamburg and an MBA from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Matthias Zenker: Chief Medical Solutions Officer

Matthias is a physician by training and holds a medical doctorate degree from the University of Ulm, Germany. He has gained both inpatient and outpatient medical expertise in various healthcare systems around the world. Matthias joined GAIA over 20 years ago. In his current role as Chief Medical Solutions Officer, Matthias is responsible for leveraging GAIA’s decades of DTx medical research and expertise internationally and providing integrated solutions to payer and physician organizations.

Michael Nick: Head of Global Partnerships

Michael has over 20 years of experience in various C-level positions in the healthcare and communications industry. As a former M&A specialist at Merck Darmstadt as well as former CEO at Senator Global, Michael’s global experience in both complex and innovative business environments gives him the right set of skills to lead and develop our international business. Michael holds an Economics degree from The University of Frankfurt as well as a MBI (Master of Business Informatics) from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Oliver Bültmann: Head of Medical Strategy

Oliver is a trained surgeon with a medical doctorate degree from the Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin). Oliver spent several years working in the field before joining GAIA over 20 years ago. In his role at GAIA, Oliver manages the public health strategies.

Bernhard Wellhöfer: CTO and Head of Regulatory Affairs

Bernhard holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Osnabrück and leads our team of technology experts and software engineers. Previously, Bernhard was responsible for Yahoo’s mobile technology platform. With his proven track record of building strong medical devices and profound knowledge of modern UI-technology, big data management, and data security, Bernhard also leads our team of regulatory affairs and quality management professionals.

Gitta Jacob: Head of Clinical Programs & R&D

Gitta is clinical psychologist and CBT therapist and supervisor with a PhD from the University of Freiburg. Before joining GAIA she worked as a clinician and research fellow at the University Medical Center of the University of Freiburg. Her research fields include the mechanisms of psychopathology and the development and evaluation of innovative treatments in severe mental disorders. She has received funding for her research from several national and international funding organizations and published more than 100 clinical and research papers, chapters and books.

Björn Meyer: Head of Research

Björn is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience in research on psychopathology, psychotherapy process and outcome, and digital therapeutics. After studying in the US and earning a PhD from the University of Miami, he was engaged in research, teaching and clinical work at universities and university clinics in Pittsburgh, Baton Rouge (LSU), London and Hamburg. As an experienced and well-published researcher, he leads the development and scientific evaluation of our digital therapy interventions.

Stan Sugarman: Chief Commercial Officer

With over 25 years of industry experience, Stan has been a key driver of commercial growth for multiple international corporations, including Salesforce and Gruner + Jahr, where he held numerous C-Level positions. In his current role, Stan leads the acceleration and growth of GAIA’s commercial business, including partner success and marketing.

Andreas Bertram: Chief Operating Officer

Andreas is an accomplished operational leader. He brings with him more than 25 years of experience developing operational excellence at international companies such as Beiersdorf, OTTO and Accenture. As GAIA’S COO, Andreas is tasked with streamlining GAIA’s processes and driving dynamic organizational growth.

Daniela Pritsch: Chief Financial Officer

Daniela Pritsch holds a diploma in business administration and is a tax consultant with more than 20 years of management experience. After working in the audit department of Ernst & Young as well as in Finance, Tax and HR at an international Allianz company, she is now responsible for the areas of Finance, Controlling, Tax and Legal at GAIA.
